For sale is an elegant, hand-painted vase from Japan, likely dating from the mid-20th century. This vase is an outstanding example of Japanese craftsmanship, distinguished by its intricate decorations and the tactile moriage technique (raised relief painting).
Product details:
Design: The front depicts two women in traditional kimonos (geishas) against a golden backdrop. The reverse shows a picturesque landscape with Mount Fuji and a red torii gate in the water.
Technique: Hand-painted with fine gold accents and relief details (moriage).
Marking: Marked on the underside with "COOP JAPAN".
Height: approx. 18.5 cm.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No cracks or chips. The colors are vibrant and the gold trim is well preserved (see photos).
